Job Title
Food Production Mixer / Batch Mixer
Job Summary
The Food Production Mixer is responsible for accurately mixing ingredients according to production formulas and company standards to ensure high-quality food products. This role operates mixing equipment, measures ingredients, monitors batch consistency, and follows all food safety and sanitation guidelines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Read and follow production formulas, recipes, and batch sheets accurately
- Measure, weigh, and mix ingredients according to specifications
- Operate industrial mixing equipment and related machinery safely
- Monitor mixing times, temperatures, and product consistency
- Inspect raw materials before use and report any quality concerns
- Maintain accurate production and batch records
- Follow GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), HACCP, and food safety standards
- Clean and sanitize mixing equipment and work areas
- Assist with inventory control and ingredient staging
- Work closely with Quality Assurance and Production teams
- Identify and report equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous experience in food manufacturing or production preferred
- Experience operating industrial mixers or food processing equipment is a plus
- Basic math and measurement skills
- Ability to read and understand production instructions and batch sheets
- Strong attention to detail and quality control
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production goals
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Frequently lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to bend, stoop, push, pull, and reach throughout shift
- Comfortable working in hot, cold, or noisy production environments
- Must be able to wear required PPE (hairnet, gloves, safety gear, etc.)
Work Environment
- Food manufacturing or production facility
- May work around powders, liquids, food ingredients, and industrial equipment
- Overtime and weekend work may be required depending on production schedules
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures
- Forklift or pallet jack experience is a plus
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize workload efficiently
