Job Title

Food Production Mixer / Batch Mixer

Job Summary

The Food Production Mixer is responsible for accurately mixing ingredients according to production formulas and company standards to ensure high-quality food products. This role operates mixing equipment, measures ingredients, monitors batch consistency, and follows all food safety and sanitation guidelines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Read and follow production formulas, recipes, and batch sheets accurately
  • Measure, weigh, and mix ingredients according to specifications
  • Operate industrial mixing equipment and related machinery safely
  • Monitor mixing times, temperatures, and product consistency
  • Inspect raw materials before use and report any quality concerns
  • Maintain accurate production and batch records
  • Follow GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), HACCP, and food safety standards
  • Clean and sanitize mixing equipment and work areas
  • Assist with inventory control and ingredient staging
  • Work closely with Quality Assurance and Production teams
  • Identify and report equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Previous experience in food manufacturing or production preferred
  • Experience operating industrial mixers or food processing equipment is a plus
  • Basic math and measurement skills
  • Ability to read and understand production instructions and batch sheets
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production goals

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Frequently lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to bend, stoop, push, pull, and reach throughout shift
  • Comfortable working in hot, cold, or noisy production environments
  • Must be able to wear required PPE (hairnet, gloves, safety gear, etc.)

Work Environment

  • Food manufacturing or production facility
  • May work around powders, liquids, food ingredients, and industrial equipment
  • Overtime and weekend work may be required depending on production schedules

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures
  • Forklift or pallet jack experience is a plus
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize workload efficiently
