Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Material Preparation: Read blueprints, layout guidelines, or work orders to determine slabbing and grinding specifications.
- Machine Operation: Set up, adjust, and monitor industrial saws, CNC machines, or handheld power tools to safely cut and size blocks or slabs.
- Surface Finishing: Grind, sand, chip, and polish surfaces to correct defects, remove excess material, and achieve the desired texture or super-smooth finish.
- Quality Assurance: Inspect finished slabs using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and templates to ensure conformance to exact standards.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on cutting and grinding equipment lubricating machines, sharpening abrasive tools, replacing worn blades
- Safety & Compliance: Maintain a clean work area and consistently adhere to strict safety protocols, including wearing protective gear like safety glasses, ear protection, and respirators.
