We are seeking an individual who is eager to contribute to our dynamic machine shop environment and assist with various manufacturing and assembly tasks. The Mechanic/Machine Shop Helper will work alongside experienced professionals, utilizing machine shop tools, and hand tools to support the production and assembly of high-quality parts. The ideal candidate should possess knowledge of de-burring equipment and be familiar with measuring devices and standard shop tools.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the manufacturing and assembly of parts within the machine shop.
• Utilize machine shop tools and jigs to perform assigned tasks.
• Employ hand tools for mechanical assembly and ensure precision in the assembly process.
• Operate de-burring equipment to remove burrs and ensure smooth edges.
• Demonstrate proficiency in using various measuring devices such as tapes,micrometers, and calipers for accurate measurements.
• Familiarize oneself with the use of standard shop tools, including drill presses, saws, and grinders, while adhering to safety protocols.
• Collaborate with the team to meet production goals and maintain a high standard of quality.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote efficiency and safety.

Requirements:

• Prior experience in a similar role or a strong interest in mechanical work is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of machine shop tools, fixtures, and hand tools.
• Familiarity with de-burring equipment and operation of surface finishing of metal.
• Proficiency in using measuring devices such as tapes, rulers/scales, and calipers.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings or instructions.
• Comfortable using standard shop tools, including drill presses, saws, and grinders.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with precision.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Adherence to safety guidelines and protocols.
