SUMMARY

Candidate will implement quality control standards, processes, and controls.  Develop methods for inspection and training.   Assist during FAA audits, customer audits and conduct internal audits.  Evaluates production capabilities and recommends improvements.  Assist in developing quality control policies and procedures.  Ensures the quality control system meets customer and company requirements.

 

JOB FUNCTIONS

1.    Manages overall aspects of facilities’ Quality Control Department(s) including Receiving and Final Inspections.

2.    Participate in MRB (Material Review Board) meetings 

3.    Manages QC Supervisors, Lead Inspectors and Inspectors to ensure proper allocation of workforce in a FAA 145 Repair Station and manufacturing settings.

4.    Attend daily production meetings to keep Operations current on QA/QC issues and to provide support as needed.

5.    Develops sampling plans, quality standards, and process control instructions for use by manufacturing to monitor and reduce variations.

6.    Leads teams that include customer and/or supplier representatives to identify and permanently resolve problems, and to nurture the customer co-destiny relationship.

7.    Develops training programs on topics such as inspection techniques and proper documentation.

8.    Evaluate candidates for QA/QC positions when opening occur.

9.    Review and approve vendor/supplier surveys.

10.    Maintain Quality Training program.

JOB REQUIREMENTS  

Justifications for Education and Training, Job Related Experience, and Knowledge or Abilities are general guidelines based on the minimum experience normally considered essential to the satisfactory performance of this job by the average incumbent.  Individual abilities may result in some deviation from these guidelines.  General computer and office skills including knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word are a must. 

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND TRAINING

Bachelor’s degree preferred in an engineering, quality or technical discipline or equivalent experience.

MINIMUM DIRECTLY RELATED JOB EXPERIENCE

Candidates should have seven or more year’s related QC experience in an FAA part 145 Repair Station with manufacturing capabilities.  Prior management experience required. Active participation in the successful completion of an FAA, CASE, ISO 9001 or customer Audit.

      MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS

Experience in QC functions in a FAA 145 Repair Station

Experience in QC functions in Aerospace manufacturing

Airframe & Power Plant License (A&P) (Airframe License acceptable)

Knowledge of FAR’s 

Knowledge of ISO 9001.

Knowledge of JIT.

Knowledge of project management techniques

Knowledge of estimating methods.

Ability to manage business crisis.
