According to Gallup, 13% of U.S. workers are so unhappy at work that they are actively disengaged. You don’t become actively disengaged overnight. Could you be on the way to being so unhappy at work that you switch off? Here are seven signs that it could be time to start searching for your next role in administration jobs.
1. You Became a Clock Watcher
When you started in your role, you were super enthusiastic. Time flew. Now the clock seems to be in constant reverse. Days drag, and each week feels like a month. If you have become a clock watcher, it’s time to start searching for a new role among advertised administration jobs.
2. You’re Turning into a Stress Head
Work is one of the main causes of stress in the United States. According to NIOSH findings (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health) Stress at Work:

Continual learning helps you to stay on top of the game and improve as an employee. If your learning has stagnated, you career soon will, too.
5. You Lack Motivation
Do you do no more than necessary, leaving tasks until the last minute to complete in a hurry? If your motivation has nosedived then your performance has probably slipped, too. Motivation is key to doing a great administration job and furthering your career. If your motivation is low, then start searching the administration jobs that could give you back your va-va-voom.
6. You Don’t Match The Company Values
Over time, people and companies change. If what is important to you no longer matches your employer’s values, you will drift apart. You’ll start to feel out of place, simply turning up for the paycheck at the end of the month – and that will lead to a lack of motivation and a stagnating career.
7. You Don’t Know Where or When Promotion Will Come
Sometimes you simply outgrow your administration role and the organization you work for. You may have great colleagues and be in tune with the organization’s values, but if your career has stagnated it is time to move on. Often this is the case if you work in a smaller organization. You may feel happy, but you should never stay in a role when you can achieve far more.
If you are not happy at work, your well-being is likely to suffer. Your home life could, too. You probably won’t earn as much as your talents deserve and miss out on promotions that should have been yours.
